A critical care nursing sister in Oxford UK; has been around horses all her life. Grew up on her family’s English dairy farm schooling and preparing young horses for livery clients. Competitive in her younger years (eventing, point2point and team chasing) and now spends much of her time supporting the exploits of her son (a captain of the Queens Royal Hussars, Cavalry Regiment) and her daughter, (who runs an equine livery yard on the home farm and also is a professional rider). Family and work colleagues think she has taken leave of her senses in signing up to tackle this Patagonian adventure, but her motto (“We are always the same age inside”) and her indomitable spirit will see her in good stead.

In the UK almost 1 million people have dementia. This Charity are striving for a cure by working to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose & prevent dementia. The focus of Alzheimers research is to accelerate the ‘bench to bedside’ journey: their funding seeks to translate scientific findings into patient benefit as rapidly as possible.
